Posidonia is a Brazilian shipping company focused on maritime cargo transportation in the Brazilian Domestic Cabotage and International Trade, as well as operations in Offshore (OSV’s) and Ship Management.

We operate with our own and chartered vessels, providing service of excellence to our shippers and clients.

Security, transparency and Compliance

Posidonia is authorized by Brazilian Authorities and Regulatory Bodies (ANTAQ, ANP & IBAMA) to operate as a Brazilian cabotage, long haul and Offshore Support company, including the carriage of dangerous goods, crude oil, petroleum products, petrochemicals, and biofuels.

The company has a team of highly qualified professionals, and is certified by TRACE INTERNATIONAL, DUNS & BRADSTREET, ECOVADIS CSR.

Posidonia has an Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, ISO 14000 and ISO 45000) certified by DNV.

Posidonia is a member of the “United Nations Global Compact”, meeting the best practices of Corporate Social Responsibility, Compliance and Environment Conscience.

Management

Abrahão Salomão acts in the general management of Posidonia. The executive is in charge of new business development, coordinates logistics projects, follows up on ship construction and repair, among other activities, such as institutional relations. He has expertise in legal and regulatory practices in the shipping industry, having worked in major law firms for five years. He has a degree in Law from PUC (RJ), an MBA in Logistics from COPPEAD/UFRJ, and extension courses in Shipmanagement, Chartering, and Finance in London. He also worked for eight years as director of Transnave Navegação, being responsible for the financial and legal restructuring of the company, negotiating freights, and buying and selling vessels, both in Brazil and abroad, and assisting in the representation of foreign shipowners.

Alex Navarro Ikonomopoulos is the company’s Chief Operating Officer. He is responsible for the QHSE department, the operation of ships and transportation of different cargoes, and special projects, such as wind equipment and projects for the Oil & Gas industry. He has extensive experience in managing and operating commercial transportation, especially in Brazil, and expertise in developing business between local and foreign companies. Alex has a degree in Foreign Trade from Universidade do Sul de Santa Catarina and specializes in shipping company management operations, risk management, and integrated management systems (ABS). Since 2003 he has been working with container transshipment and ship operations in Brazil and South America. Previously he was the head of Kadmos Shipping, specialized in ship agency and shipowner representation

The financial management of Posidonia is under the command of Felipe Navarro Ikonomopoulos. He coordinates the entire finance department, makes evaluations and investment projects. He also supervises and controls the auditing of the company’s transactions. The executive has a degree in Business Administration from PUC (RJ), an MBA in Finance from IBMEC, and a certificate in Business Administration from the London of Business School. Felipe is also certified in foreign trade, port logistics, and financial risk management, among others. He worked as financial manager from 2002 to 2005 for Parfina Marítima and, in 2006, he became partner and director of Kadmos Shipping.

He has a degree in Economics from UFRJ and a MSc in International Relations from Boston University – London. As Posidonia’s Solid Bulk Director, he is responsible for the movement of dry cargoes, coordinating the employment of vessels according to the needs of shippers.
He has extensive experience in the commercial area, especially in Chartering, having been a director of large maritime groups, and their representative in class institutions.

He studied business administration at New York University, NYU, and general management at PUC Rio de Janeiro.
He was a founding partner and president of Seamar Serviços de Apoio Marítimo, a pioneer in the Brazilian marine support segment. After that, he held the direction of important companies in the sector, being responsible for their hiring by the main IOC’s acting in Brazil, in addition to their representation in class organs. He has extensive experience in hiring boat construction. He is an advisory member of the ABS (American Bureau of Shipping).
